These three simple rules of Dr. John Lee will help you, as it helped him, understand and take control of your entire approach to hormone balance 1. Use hormones only if you need them. In other words, if you've been tested and you are low or if you have CLEAR symptoms. 2. Use bioidentical hormones NOT synthetic hormones. 3. Don't go overboard or underboard. Dose only to give you balance.

Do men have PMS?

Do men have PMS? My 8 years old granddaughter whispered to me the other day, why is Pop cranky today? I wanted to say … oh don’t pay any attention to him today he must have PMS but since she is only 8 I didn’t want explain what PMS was.

Seriously, years ago there is not a health care specialist anywhere that would come close to saying men suffer health challenges related to mid life changes in their hormone level. Now it is becoming apparent through medical research that men do suffer hormonal changes in their body starting at around 40 to 50 years of age.

New research by Brent Formby, Ph.D. at the Sansum Medical Research Institute in Santa Barbara, CA has uncovered evidence that progesterone may help men with prostate problems. His results showed that progesterone inhibits the growth of prostate cancer cells and that estradiol (estrogen) and dihdrotestosterone (DHT) (bad testosterone) accelerate prostate cancer cell growth.

Each year over 400,000 men in the United States alone undergo prostate surgery and over a billion dollars a year is spent on prostate treatment. Proscar, the leading drug is highly dangerous and according to the United States Veteran's Administration is no more effective than a sugar pill. On the opposite side there are no side effects to using natural progesterone. By the age of 50, 35% of men have cancer cells in their prostate. Odds are 2 to 1 a man will have prostate problems by the time they are 60.

In one of my earlier post I shared with you that our company sponsored many women health seminars all a crossed California with Dr. John Lee as our special guest speaker. Dr. Lee pioneered and blazed the trails for research on natural progesterone cream. I remember as a group of us ate lunch with Dr. Lee at one of our seminars he spent the entire lunch break talking to us about the importance of men using natural progesterone too. It was very interesting and was the beginning of my husband using Balanced Woman.

It should not be forgotten that men benefit from progesterone too. It is important to the functioning of the male counterpart of the uterus, called the prostate gland. The prostate gland can be affected by hormonal imbalance just as well as the uterus can. If men have low progesterone levels their estradiol levels can increase. This increase can lead to cancer of the prostate, just as it leads to breast and uterine cancer in women.

Dr. John Lee spoke about how he found men with elevated PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) levels having decreases of these levels when using progesterone cream daily. There were no progressions of their prostate lesions. Many men who were using their wives progesterone cream also reported that urinary frequency and urgency symptoms of prostate enlargement (BPH had decreased.)

Prostate cancer has been treated by the use of hormone-suppressing drugs that reduce testosterone levels. Many times the treatment benefits last only a few years then the cancer progresses. If unopposed estrogen is known to cause endometrial cancer then why would it not be the cause of prostate cancer, since both these organs originate from the same embryonic cells? Also progesterone inhibits the enzyme that converts testosterone to (DHT), which is known to stimulate prostate cell growth.

Here is another very good reason men should used Balanced Woman. Most people consider osteoporosis to be a “women’s disease,” but according to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, twenty percent of those affected by osteoporosis are men. Many studies have shown that progesterone treatment helps replace the bone density that has been lost due to osteoporosis.

Benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), the swelling of the prostate commonly known as prostatitis, affects 50 percent of men during their lifetimes. Progesterone treatment has been shown to shrink the prostate, alleviating the painful symptoms of BPH and allowing men to urinate more easily.

Yes, men really do go though menopause … Male Andropause (Male Menopause)

As I said earlier at about ages 40-50, starting even as early as their 30's, men go through a change. The realization hits them - they are aging. Their bodily changes are accompanied by changes in attitudes and moods. During this time men frequently begin to question their values, accomplishments, and life's direction. The entire pattern of these changes has led to the notion of the mid-life crisis.

Health research results show that a mid-life crisis is physical. It's a gradual and subtle shift in hormone production in the male body. Unlike a woman's body, there is no medically defined marker, like a woman's cessation of menstruation, which says a man is in male menopause - andropause. Science has known about andropause since the 1940's, but only recently have there been accessible and easy to administer hormone tests. Now, more than ever, there is interest in men's aging processes. Researchers are learning that letting this male hormone imbalance go untested and untreated can lead to some serious physical health risks. Emotional issues also occur with this imbalance that can add stress to a man's health and well being.

Some of the benefits of men using natural progesterone cream is it alleviates symptoms associated with enlarged prostate and it can enhance libido, improve energy, stamina and endurance.

I encourage anyone reading this information … tell all the men in your life about the importance of using Balanced Woman a natural progesterone cream formulated to the specifications of Dr. John R Lee.
